NCP sponsors Nürnberger Versicherungscup 2016

NCP’s mission is to help businesses perform at the top of their game through strong and agile remote data communications access. With this in mind it is appropriate that NCP is sponsoring the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Nürnberger Versicherungscup taking place in Nuremberg from 15-21 May 2016.

The tournament, now in its fourth year, provides a platform for rising stars of the ladies professional tennis circuit to establish their championship credentials.  Here, too, it has something in common with NCP which, as a business, has always taken a keen interest in promoting talented young professionals from within its ranks.

It is fitting therefore that NCP is able to go some way towards returning the compliment by supporting one of the City’s premier sporting occasions. Already this year Germany has celebrated some notable successes in women’s tennis. Germany’s Angelique Kerber won the Australian Open while fellow nationals Annika Beck and Lisa Fritz also put in strong performances.  Angelique has since won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, beating Laura Siegemund in the competition’s first all-German final.

But the Nürnberger Versicherungscup event is as much about promoting future tennis stars as it is about celebrating present ones. One talent being hotly tipped for future success is Nuremberg’s very own Lara Schmidt. Having won the German Youth Championships last November and her first international junior tournament in February 2016 the 16-year-old will be making her WTA tour debut. NCP, along with the whole city of Nuremberg, will be following her progress very closely.

Asked how she will prepare for the tournament Lara says she will stay as focused and disciplined as always. Coincidentally these same two qualities are equally important for business remote access users. In their case the focus needs to be on security while VPN is the discipline.  Together they ensure end-to-end remote access protection across an attack surface that today stretches from Internet hotspots to mobile payments and from cloud services to the Internet of Things.
