NCP-Talk with Daniela - Senior Marketing Manager

Tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Daniela Euerl, and I have been working in marketing at NCP for over 16 years. I am a trained graphic designer and business administrator, with experience in various related fields throughout my career. I particularly enjoy graphic design for our software, and I take pride in knowing that my creations are displayed on screens every day at well-known companies. Additionally, I appreciate the variety of tasks involved in creating social media posts and working on internal projects, such as work anniversaries.

In my private life, I like to spend time with my family, travel, watch a lot of series and play video games. Lately, I've also discovered my passion for karaoke.

You are already a veteran at NCP. What has changed at NCP in the last 16 years?

Above all, the number of employees – there were only three of us in the marketing department at the beginning! I also appreciate the flexibility that comes with the option to work from home. Nowadays, we face many new topics that involve complex legal requirements. While events and print products have declined over the years, a significant focus is now on social media. Additionally, we are collaborating with many more agencies to help us execute our extensive projects.

“Everything that has to do with graphics” is your area of expertise. What sparked your interest in image editing?

As a child, I painted/drew a lot, and then I began to create my first logos for clubs or made collages and vouchers digitally. I was able to earn some pocket money on the side.

Later, I trained as a media designer. There, I mainly created e-learning courses for the automotive industry. After that, I slipped into the software industry and created everything you can imagine.

What do you pay attention to when editing images? What does a perfect picture look like to you?

It must look natural. There is nothing worse than obviously AI-generated images with strange proportions where the skin is much too smooth, or details are distorted.

In graphics, such as diagrams, proportions should be illustrated evenly and harmoniously to create a calm and professional impression.

Do you also do graphic design work in your spare time? Or does someone else take care of the holiday pictures?

I avoid creating photo books or albums. However, I still like to make birthday cards, vouchers or Christmas gifts.

Today images are created not only by humans, but also by AI. How do you feel about this?

As always, there are advantages and disadvantages. AI can do a lot, but not everything. For example, when generating images, you have to give very precise information and try a lot to write the perfect prompts. What I really like to use are the AI features in Photoshop to expand smaller parts of an image or to retouch elements. This saves a lot of time and manual work.

Winter is slowly approaching. We know that you prefer warmer seasons. For those who feel the same way: What are your tips against the cold?

A true game-changer for the cold season is my heated mouse! I used to get really cold fingers using my mouse, but that’s become a thing of the past now. But I’m always on the lookout for gadgets to keep me warm in the winter. I also have a heatable sweater for visits to the cold Christmas market.

Thank you for your time and the friendly interview.
